Alexander McQueen may be gone in person, but his legacy most certainly lives on the latest,Spring/Summer 2012 McQueen collection, presented recently at Paris Fashion Week.Sarah Burton once again amazed the audience with a stunning,couture like collection,carefully designed down to the smallest details.Romance,drama and ultimate sophistication are just a few of the epithets that could be attached to it…The abundance of lacy details,ruffles,light weight silk and fitted bodicies adorned with emboidery give the collection a mesmerizing,almost whimsical look, and made it truly unforgetable. The collection’s memorable designs were masterfully complemented with masks that either covered the hair or the full face, and gorgeous shoes that added a finishing touch to the McQueen’s fairytale.
When asked about the inspiration of the collection, Sarah Burton would say:“It’s all about femininity and womanhood. It’s about embellishment and celebrating women’s beauty.”
