Riccardo Tisci leaves Givenchy
Many say that it’s an end of an era… After 12 years working for the famous French house, Riccardo Tisci officially left Givenchy on 31 January this year. His final collection for this luxury brand has been shown during menswear and couture weeks in Paris.
“The chapter Riccardo Tisci has written with the house of Givenchy over the last 12 years represents an incredible vision to sustain its continuous success, and I would like to warmly thank him for his core contribution to the house’s development,” is what Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of Givenchy owner LVMH said of the famous Italian designer.
What Riccardo Tisci is always going to be remembered for, is the revival of the brand by adding youthful, street culture elements to the glamour that Givenchy was already known for, making it popular among the young generation.
His successor has not yet been announced, however there are speculation that several high profile names such as Peter Dundas, Hedi Slimane, Clare Waight Keller and Peter Copping may already be on the shortlist.
