The trend of turning vintage garments into high fashion ones is very IN lately…Many designers practiced it, starting from Vetements and their recycled fur coats to Victor & Rolf couture designs made out of castaway garments. However, there is one new label who is currently taking over the NY fashion scene and does this upcycling thing to perfection. It’s name is Mia Vesper.
The label becomes famous for creating moto jackets and cool boleros made of vintage tapestries, decorated with colorful leather. Designer Mia Humber has an impeccable sense of style herself, and what she does incredibly well is selecting colorful, ethnic tapestries that catch everyone’s attention.
Searching for catchy outerwear for herself, she came to the idea of creating the first tapestry jacket. . “I just wanted to wear what I was making at first, but once I put it on Instagram, people started asking me where they could buy it,” she says. Now, her jackets have become increasingly popular with a price range from $1,600 to $3,000 for more intricate designs.
