Besides being the greatest guitarist in history, Jimi Hendrix was well known for his unique style and impeccable sense of fashion. He gave a completely new meaning to the rock and roll style in the 1960’s, giving a sharp and glamorous edge to it. He favored all kings of vintage jackets ranging from his velvet suits in red and blue color, psychedelically patterned silk suits, to the military dress jackets he was the most famous for. He matched those perfectly well with the hippie signature peaces such as bell bottoms, vests, scarves, rings and pins that often acknowledged his support of the hippie movement and his fascination with Bob Dylan. In the late 1960’s he started wearing custom made stage costumes with long trailing sleeves but even more memorable is the white fringe jacket decorated with blue glass beads that he wore at the Woodstock festival. It seems that Jimi could pull off just about anything and his exceptional style will always be an inspiration for many artists, singers and fashionistas worldwide.
